Enovis launches hybrid scoliosis brace for adolescents

June 8, 2026 8:32 AM

Enovis Corporation (NYSE: ENOV) announced the launch of the DonJoy Spinamic Hybrid Scoliosis Brace in the United States. The device combines rigid corrective elements with a breathable mesh design for treating adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

The brace integrates an adjustable three-point pressure system into a mesh vest structure. It is available in 10 off-the-shelf sizes and allows for fitting, imaging, and adjustments in a single clinic visit without requiring custom fabrication.

Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis affects approximately 0.5% to 5% of adolescents worldwide. Traditional rigid braces serve as the standard treatment to prevent curve progression but can cause skin irritation and psychological burden, leading some patients to discontinue use.

"By combining the corrective strength of a rigid brace with the flexibility and mobility of a dynamic solution, Spinamic helps eliminate the tradeoff scoliosis patients often face between effective treatment and maintaining their quality of life," said Terry Ross, President of Enovis' Prevention & Recovery business segment.

The brace features pressure regulators mounted to adjustable rail-type pressure plates positioned to align with curve apex points. An adjustable hump pad at the base of rib prominence assists with derotation of the scoliotic curve. The mesh fabric is hand-washable and designed for extended wear periods.

Clinical evidence supporting the device's effectiveness in preventing curve progression has been published. Enovis is pursuing regulatory clearance in additional markets worldwide through its subsidiary DJO, LLC.
