June 8, 2026 8:01 AM

SLB OneSubsea has secured a contract from bp to provide a subsea boosting system for the Thunder Horse project in the Gulf of America, according to a company statement.

The engineering, procurement and construction contract adds to recent subsea boosting awards for bp's Kaskida and Tiber developments. All three projects use the same standardized subsea boosting system solution.

SLB OneSubsea will deliver the subsea boosting system along with project management, engineering, manufacturing and testing services. The Thunder Horse project is located in the deepwater portion of the Gulf of America.

"Subsea boosting is an important enabler for extending production from existing assets," said Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of SLB OneSubsea. "Our standardized subsea solutions support faster deployment and improved efficiency, helping operators enhance production and recovery while optimizing overall field performance."

The standardized approach is designed to improve execution efficiency and reduce delivery times compared to custom solutions. SLB OneSubsea's processing technology aims to increase production and improve recovery rates.

SLB OneSubsea is a joint venture between SLB (NYSE: SLB), Aker Solutions, and Subsea7, headquartered in Oslo and Houston with 10,000 employees globally.
