Ainos reports 499% revenue growth in 2025, expands AI scent technology

Ainos Inc. (NASDAQ: AIMD) released its 2026 mid-year shareholder letter, reporting 499% year-over-year revenue growth during fiscal year 2025. The company has shifted from biotechnology focus to technology platform development centered on artificial intelligence-powered scent digitization.

The Houston-based company advanced commercial deployments in semiconductor manufacturing environments during the first half of 2026. Ainos collaborated with advanced semiconductor manufacturers and strategic industry partners to expand industrial-scale scent AI datasets for environmental intelligence and safety monitoring applications.

The company expanded its scent AI technology into healthcare settings through collaborative research programs with National Taiwan University Hospital and MacKay Memorial Hospital. These initiatives focus on emergency department congestion monitoring, respiratory infection risk assessment, and healthcare facility safety management.

Ainos updated its industry classification to reflect its technology-focused business model. The company operates an AI Nose platform that digitizes scent into what it calls "Smell ID," converting analog scent signals into structured data using proprietary algorithms designed for parts-per-billion level detection sensitivity.

"We believe the world is entering the next stage of artificial intelligence: Physical AI," stated Chairman, President and CEO Eddy Tsai in the shareholder letter. "Scent remains one of the last major categories of real-world information that has not yet been fully digitized."

For the second half of 2026, the company plans to scale commercial deployments, expand semiconductor industry adoption, and advance development of what it terms Smell Language Models. Ainos operates under a subscription-based service model for its scent intelligence platform.

The company also develops VELDONA, a low-dose oral interferon treatment targeting rare, autoimmune, and infectious diseases as part of its dual-platform approach combining AI and biotechnology.
