NIQ launches GDSN capability for unified product data management
NielsenIQ (NYSE: NIQ) announced a new Global Data Synchronization Network capability within its Product Intelligence platform. The feature enables brands and retailers to create, manage and distribute a single product record across supply chains, digital commerce platforms and AI-powered shopping environments.
The capability builds on Brandbank's product content expertise and allows organizations to synchronize, validate and distribute product data through one workflow. Companies can create a governed product record and activate it across retailer networks, digital platforms, supply chain partners and commerce environments powered by artificial intelligence.
The system connects GS1-aligned product data with consumer-facing product content, enabling structured data to flow into AI-powered recommendation engines, search experiences and agent-led shopping interactions without manual enrichment. The GDSN capability ensures data synchronization, validation and activation across the commerce ecosystem.
"Last week we introduced Product Intelligence as one of the foundations for AI-ready commerce," said Greg Hunter, Vice President, US Retail at NIQ. "This new capability brings that vision to life by enabling brands to create a single trusted product record that supports supply chain operations, digital commerce, retailer requirements, and emerging AI-powered shopping experiences."
The solution creates a single product record combining GS1-aligned data with experience-ready content, validates data once for activation across multiple platforms, and reduces errors while accelerating time to market. The system is designed for brands of all sizes and supports retailer needs by reducing friction and incomplete product data.
The solution is available in North America, Central Europe and the Benelux region. NIQ operates in more than 90 countries and covers approximately 82% of the world's population and more than $7.4 trillion in global consumer spend.
