onsemi launches online tool to pair power electronics components
onsemi (NASDAQ: ON) announced the launch of its Elite Pairing Studio, an online design tool that helps engineers select combinations of silicon carbide MOSFETs and gate drivers for power electronics applications. The cloud-based platform targets applications in AI data centers, electric vehicles, and industrial systems.
The tool analyzes device combinations and provides recommendations for pairing SiC MOSFETs with gate drivers based on user-specified system requirements. Engineers can evaluate switching behavior, timing, and energy losses through an interactive simulation environment before advancing to full system-level analysis.
The platform displays key performance metrics including switching timings, gate voltage and current waveforms, voltage overshoot margins, and switching energy losses. Results are presented through an interactive waveform viewer that allows engineers to compare different pairing options.
The Elite Pairing Studio operates as a private workspace on onsemi.com and uses industry-standard equations and performance calculations for its evaluations. The tool generates PLECS system-level simulation models that can be used with onsemi's Elite Power Simulator for further analysis of efficiency and thermal performance.
The company stated that additional onsemi technologies will be integrated into the Elite Pairing Studio in future updates. The tool is currently available through the onsemi website and will be demonstrated at PCIM Expo 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany.
onsemi develops power and sensing technologies for automotive, industrial, and data center markets. The company is included in the S&P 500 index.
