Nebius commits £1.7 billion to expand UK AI infrastructure capacity
Nebius (NASDAQ: NBIS) announced it will invest approximately £1.7 billion to build AI infrastructure capacity across four UK sites, deploying NVIDIA technology including Blackwell Ultra systems.
The AI cloud company said the three new deployments will utilize NVIDIA's full-stack AI factory platform technology. Combined with existing operations, the sites will reach 65 megawatts of capacity when fully operational in 2027.
Nebius launched its first UK deployment of NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra infrastructure in November. The company operates from a London hub that houses commercial teams for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region alongside global industry teams.
UK customers currently using Nebius services include Revolut, the financial technology company serving over 75 million customers across 40 markets. Revolut has rebuilt its AI systems on the Nebius platform to power financial crime prevention agents and customer support operations handling more than one million tickets monthly.
"We rebuilt Revolut's AI stack around production reliability and inference economics," said Pavel Nesterov, Executive Director of AI at Revolut. "Nebius gives us the scale to run training and inference for 75 million customers."
Prima Mente, a company developing AI treatments for brain diseases including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, also operates on the Nebius platform. The company receives support from the UK Sovereign AI Fund and uses Nebius for biological foundation model training.
UK AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said the investment "brings significant AI compute into the UK, giving companies what they need to train, test and run advanced systems here at home."
The company is hiring engineering and research talent in the UK and operates Nebius Academy, which partners with universities and research institutions to provide AI training courses.
