June 5, 2026 8:02 AM

Viking (NYSE: VIK) announced new European river cruise experiences beginning in the 2026 season, including zeppelin airship excursions over Germany's Rhine Valley and Cologne for select itineraries.

The cruise line will offer two zeppelin experiences: flights over the Ruhr Valley and Cologne, both ascending to approximately 1,000 feet. The Ruhr Valley flight includes views of the Zeche Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site, while the Cologne flight provides aerial perspectives of the city's cathedral and modern landmarks.

Viking also introduced new shore excursions across its Rhine, Danube, Seine and Elbe river routes. These include dinner experiences at Austria's Nikolaihof Winery, cooking classes in Belgrade, wine tastings at Slovakia's Red Stone Castle, and food tours in Berlin and Rouen during Christmas season.

The company added small group experiences for intimate exploration of landmarks including the Palace of Versailles, Vienna's Schönbrunn Palace, and the medieval village of Colmar.

New land extensions launching in 2026 and 2027 will cover Italy, France, Croatia, Slovenia, Belgium and the Netherlands. These include alpine train journeys through Switzerland, cultural tours of Croatia and Slovenia, and explorations of Belgian cities.

Viking also announced it will return for the Oberammergau Passion Play in 2030 and is accepting advance interest from potential guests.

The company is offering reduced fares and up to free international airfare through June 30, 2026, with a $25 deposit option for all itineraries.
