May 13, 2026 8:31 AM

Aware Inc. (NASDAQ: AWRE) announced that its Intelligent Liveness solution successfully completed an independent injection attack detection evaluation conducted by BixeLab in April 2026.

The testing evaluated 900 scenarios, including 600 injection attack attempts and 300 legitimate transactions. BixeLab, a biometric testing and certification company, conducted the evaluation in alignment with CEN/TS 18099:2024 technical specifications.

The evaluation tested multiple attack methods including virtual camera, USB camera, function hooking, and rooted device scenarios with tamper-detection bypass. The system recorded zero successful injection bypasses across all attack attempts and maintained a 0% Bona Fide Presentation Classification Error Rate across 300 legitimate transactions.

Injection attacks involve attempts to feed manipulated or synthetic data directly into biometric systems. The testing covered 10 Injection Attack Instrument species and four attack methods.

"Within the scope of this evaluation, Aware demonstrated strong performance against the representative injection attack scenarios tested, in an evaluation conducted in close alignment with CEN/TS 18099," said Ted Dunstone, CEO of BixeLab.

Aware CEO Ajay Amlani stated that injection attacks are emerging as a critical threat facing biometric systems and the evaluation demonstrates the strength of the company's solution in detecting these attacks.

The Burlington, Massachusetts-based company provides biometric identity and authentication solutions for enterprise environments.
