Block names Andrea Acosta as chief accounting officer

Block Inc. (NYSE: XYZ) appointed Andrea Acosta as chief accounting officer, effective May 26, 2026, according to a company statement. The board of directors made the appointment on April 30, 2026.

Acosta, 47, will assume principal accounting officer responsibilities from Amrita Ahuja, who had been serving in an interim capacity. Ahuja will continue as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Acosta will report to Ahuja.

Acosta most recently served as chief accounting officer at Pinterest Inc. since February 2022. She previously held various positions at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., including global controller and chief accounting officer from July 2020 to February 2022, and vice president, corporate controller from July 2017 to June 2020.

From August 2007 to June 2017, Acosta worked at Levi Strauss & Co. in various finance management roles, most recently as vice president, global controller and principal accounting officer. She began her career in KPMG LLP's audit practice from 2003 to 2007. Acosta holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from San Francisco State University.

Under the terms of her offer letter, Acosta will receive an annual base salary of $550,000 and a one-time sign-on cash bonus of $250,000. The sign-on bonus requires reimbursement if she voluntarily terminates employment within two years. She will also receive a restricted stock unit award valued at $8 million under the company's 2025 Equity Incentive Plan, vesting over four years subject to continued employment.
