Broadcom expands Google Cloud partnership for network monitoring service
Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO) announced an expanded collaboration with Google Cloud on April 22 to support the Cloud Network Insights service. The service uses AppNeta by Broadcom technology to provide network observability across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
Google Cloud developed Cloud Network Insights as a first-party offering exclusively for its users, integrating Broadcom's network monitoring capabilities. The service aims to help organizations monitor application and network performance across distributed cloud applications.
Cloud Network Insights provides three main functions: network experience monitoring with end-to-end network path visibility, application and agent experience monitoring across on-premises and cloud environments, and network diagnostics to reduce mean time to resolution by isolating network versus application issues.
The service addresses monitoring challenges in modern workloads that span multiple clouds, on-premises environments, and SaaS services. Traditional monitoring tools provide limited visibility beyond customer-managed networks, according to the companies.
"By bringing AppNeta's comprehensive observability technologies into our Cloud Network Insights product, we are equipping customers with the end-to-end insights they need to proactively optimize agent, application, and network experiences," said Rob Enns, VP and General Manager of Cloud Networking at Google Cloud.
Serge Lucio, VP and General Manager of Broadcom's Agile Operations Division, said the company supports Cloud Network Insights to help Google Cloud users monitor distributed applications and networks more effectively.
Broadcom uses AppNeta technology internally to monitor traffic across on-premises and cloud-based applications, allowing IT teams to distinguish between network and application issues, according to Alan Davidson, Broadcom's CIO.
Cloud Network Insights powered by AppNeta by Broadcom is now available through Google Cloud, according to the press release statement.
