Boeing targets 26 satellite deliveries in 2026 with expanded portfolio

April 16, 2026 9:02 AM

Boeing (NYSE: BA) and its subsidiary Millennium Space Systems announced plans to increase satellite production capacity and expand their spacecraft portfolio to meet growing demand from government and commercial customers.

The aerospace company targets 26 satellite deliveries in 2026 as part of efforts to increase output across its space portfolio, according to a company statement. Boeing said it is investing in common products, repeatable manufacturing approaches and integration across Boeing and Millennium products to support the production increase.

Boeing and Millennium introduced Resolute, a new mid-class satellite platform designed for missions requiring more capability than traditional small satellites while offering greater speed and flexibility than large satellite programs. The platform uses Millennium common products and flight-proven avionics with on-orbit heritage.

"We're aligning our space business to meet a market that is moving faster and asking for more flexibility," said Kay Sears, vice president and general manager of Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems. "That means increasing production throughput, broadening the portfolio and giving customers more options for how they field and scale capability over time."

Millennium Space Systems continues scaling production capacity to support its growing backlog and broader customer requirements. The company's production model aims to support higher-rate manufacturing while maintaining flexibility to customize spacecraft for specific missions.

Tony Gingiss, CEO of Millennium Space Systems, said the initiative extends beyond single products to building production depth, common architecture and capacity to scale with demand. The platform is designed for communications, sensing and other mission requirements across multiple orbital regimes.

Boeing cited more than 60 years of satellite heritage as it continues investing in space technologies, production capability and mission architectures for customers deploying and operating capability in changing environments.
