Abeona Therapeutics appoints Keith Goldan to board of directors

Abeona Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: ABEO) announced the appointment of Keith A. Goldan as an independent member to its board of directors, effective April 1, 2026, according to a company statement. Goldan will also serve as chairman of Abeona's audit committee.



Goldan currently serves as chief financial officer of Syndax Pharmaceuticals, a position he has held since 2022. He previously served as CFO at Optinose, a specialty pharmaceutical company, and Fibrocell, a cell and gene therapy company. His experience includes leadership roles at NuPathe, PuriCore plc, Biosyn, ViroPharma and KPMG.



During his career, Goldan has led finance, accounting, IT, HR and corporate development functions across multiple publicly traded biotechnology companies. He has participated in capital raising through initial public offerings and various financing transactions, as well as merger and acquisition activities.



"Keith's deep experience in capital markets, corporate development, and operational scaling will be an invaluable voice as we continue to position Abeona for growth as a commercial-stage biotech company," said Michael Amoroso, chairman of Abeona's board of directors.



Abeona Therapeutics is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company that develops cell and gene therapies. The company's ZEVASKYN is an autologous cell-based gene therapy for treating wounds in patients with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. The company operates a manufacturing facility in Cleveland, Ohio for commercial production of ZEVASKYN.



The appointment reflects Abeona's focus on strengthening its leadership team to advance strategic and financial objectives, according to the company statement.
