BioStem appoints Jodi Ungrodt to board as audit committee chair
BioStem Technologies (OTC: BSEM) announced the appointment of Jodi Ungrodt to its board of directors, where she will serve as chair of the audit committee, effective March 18.
Ungrodt brings 29 years of financial leadership experience as a senior partner at Ernst & Young, where she advised life sciences companies on public offerings, business combinations, risk assessment and regulatory compliance. She qualifies as a financial expert under SEC, NYSE and NASDAQ rules.
The appointment comes as BioStem plans to expand beyond chronic wound care and raise its profile in public markets in 2026. During her Ernst & Young tenure, Ungrodt advised more than 30 initial public offerings and served over 70 life sciences companies.
"Jodi's twenty-nine years of life sciences accounting experience at Ernst & Young, along with her track record advising more than thirty IPOs and deep regulatory and government expertise, will make a terrific addition to our board governance during this pivotal time," said Jason Matuszewski, chairman and CEO of BioStem Technologies.
As audit committee chair, Ungrodt will oversee the company's financial reporting, internal controls and risk management practices. She previously served as audit committee chair for Feeding San Diego for over a decade and serves as an advisory board member for Life Science Cares.
Ungrodt holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from San Diego State University and is a certified public accountant. She replaces Brandon Poe, who joined BioStem as chief financial officer in August 2025 after serving on the board for three years.
BioStem Technologies develops and manufactures placental-derived products for advanced wound care applications.
