Analysts at JANCO Partners calculated that the Softbank deal is valuing Sprint (NYSE: S) at $6.39 per share, offering a return of 12 percent on an arbitrage over the next six to nine months.
They get to this value using the following calculations:
As such, the firm is upgraded their opinion from Sell to Arbitrage Buy.
On a fundamental value, the firm said Sprint may be worth between $6.43 and $7.52 per share. In a low case, using $1,100 per postpaid customer, $300 for prepaid and $15 for wholesale, Sprint is worth $6.43. In a high case, using $1,200 per postpaid customer, $300 for prepaid and $15 for wholesale, Sprint is worth $7.52.
