Muddy Waters LLC has confirmed that a press release on BriefingWire, alleging SEC fraud charges versus the group's founder Carson Block, was a "hoax":
In an e-mail, Muddy Waters said:
"The BriefingWire release on Carson Block and Muddy Waters, LLC this morning is a hoax. Muddy Waters, LLC has spoken with BriefingWire, which has agreed to remove the libelous submission."
