March 13, 2008 10:02 AM EDT
Shares of Bear Stearns (NYSE: BSC) are down 13% this AM, to a new 52-week low. We have not seen any company specific news or heard any new liquidity rumors, but the Carlyle Capital news was the latest shoe to drop in the financials.

Bear Stearns has been denying liquidity rumors, although a Wall Street Journal report today said traders are being extra cautious when using Bear as the counterparty. The paper also said some hedge funds have been moving prime broker business to other firms in recent weeks.
