Mogo Inc. (NASDAQ: MOGO; TSX: MOGO) repurchased approximately 2% of its outstanding shares during the second quarter of 2025 under its share buyback program, according to a company statement.
The Canadian financial technology company bought back 523,091 common shares at an average price of approximately $1.44 per share during the quarter. The shares were purchased for cancellation, reducing total outstanding shares to approximately 24 million as of June 30, 2025.
"This repurchase activity reflects our continued commitment to disciplined capital allocation and long-term shareholder value," said Greg Feller, President and Co-Founder. "We view share buybacks as a strategic use of capital when we believe our stock is trading meaningfully below intrinsic value."
The company stated that future capital allocation decisions, including share repurchases, will be evaluated against a Bitcoin hurdle rate as part of its Bitcoin treasury strategy. Under this framework, capital will only be deployed into opportunities expected to outperform the long-term return profile of holding Bitcoin.
"If we believe repurchasing our shares offers greater long-term value than holding Bitcoin, we will act accordingly," Feller added. "If not, we will preserve capital or continue building our Bitcoin reserve."
As of July 1, 2025, Mogo has approximately $7 million in remaining repurchase capacity under its NASDAQ share buyback program. At current market prices, this authorization represents the capacity to repurchase roughly 13% of outstanding common shares.
Mogo operates across wealth, lending, and payments services and recently announced a Bitcoin treasury strategy.
