ALT5 Sigma approves $100 million stock buyback program and token purchases

January 29, 2026 8:05 AM EST

ALT5 Sigma Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTS) announced its board of directors authorized up to $100 million for a stock buyback program and additional purchases of $WLFI tokens, according to a company press release.

The buyback program allows for repurchasing up to 50 million shares below net asset value, representing approximately 40% of outstanding shares. The company reports trading at what it characterizes as a 70% discount to intrinsic value.

ALT5 Sigma has entered into a $15 million debt financing agreement with World Liberty Financial to fund initial program activities. The company's balance sheet exceeds $1.6 billion as reported in its September 2025 10-Q filing.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to create extraordinary value for our shareholders," said Tony Isaac, CEO of ALT5. "We believe our shares are trading at a deep discount to NAV— approximately a 70% discount to what we view as our intrinsic value."

The board also authorized management to pursue additional $WLFI token acquisitions in the open market. ALT5 currently holds approximately 7.3 billion $WLFI tokens, which the company estimates at $1.5 billion in value based on market conditions at the time of its last quarterly SEC filing.

The $WLFI tokens serve as governance tokens for the World Liberty Financial ecosystem, which includes the USD1 stablecoin. The company reports USD1's market capitalization increased to over $5 billion from $3.4 billion on January 12, representing approximately 50% growth in three weeks.

ALT5 Sigma operates as a fintech company focused on digital asset infrastructure and blockchain-enabled solutions. The company has processed over $8 billion in cryptocurrency transactions since launching its processing platforms in 2018.

World Liberty Financial has granted ALT5 a waiver permitting the company to leverage its digital asset holdings for financing arrangements, subject to agreed-upon standards and market conditions.
