After-hours movers:
FedEx (NYSE: FDX) rose 7% after it reported strong quarterly results. The shipper reported Q1 EPS of $3.83, $0.15 better than the analyst estimate of $3.68. Revenue for the quarter came in at $22.2 billion versus the consensus estimate of $21.69 billion.
- UPS (NYSE: UPS) rose 3%, trading higher in sympathy with FedEx.
Scholastic Corp (NASDAQ: SCHL) fell 11% after disappointing results. It reported Q1 EPS of ($2.52), $0.07 worse than the analyst estimate of ($2.45). Revenue for the quarter came in at $225.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $240.41 million.
