Apple Hospitality REIT, Inc. (which is referred to below as the “Company”) is filing this report in accordance with Item 5.02 of Form 8-K.

Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On June 10, 2026, Elizabeth S. Perkins, the Company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, was appointed as, and assumed the additional role of, the Company’s principal accounting officer. Ms. Perkins succeeds Rachel Labrecque as the Company’s principal accounting officer. Ms. Labrecque passed away on June 9, 2026. Ms. Labrecque will be greatly missed and the Company extends its sincere condolences to Ms. Labrecque’s family.

Biographical information for Ms. Perkins may be found in the Company’s definitive proxy statement on Schedule 14A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 2, 2026, and such biographical information is incorporated herein by reference. There is no arrangement or understanding between Ms. Perkins and any other persons pursuant to which Ms. Perkins was appointed as principal accounting officer, nor does she have any direct or indirect material interest in any transaction required to be disclosed pursuant to Item 404(a) of Regulation S-K. Ms. Perkins has no family relationships with any of the Company's directors or executive officers, and no changes have been made to any plans or arrangements in which Ms. Perkins participates as a result of this appointment.
