Trump threatens to sue Fed's Powell, will announce replacement next month

PALM ⁠BEACH, Florida, ⁠Dec ‍29 (Reuters) - U.S. President ‍Donald Trump on Monday ​renewed his ​threat to bring a lawsuit against Federal Reserve ​Chair Jerome Powell for ​what he called "gross incompetence" related ‌to Powell's management of renovations at ​the Fed's ⁠Washington headquarters.

Speaking to reporters ‌in Florida, Trump also said ‌he plans to ‌announce his pick for the next chair ‍sometime in January.
