Wilmington Trust Promotes Two to Leadership Roles

Frank Sutton Named Chief Fiduciary Officer; Marguerite Weese Named Chief Wealth Strategist

WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Wilmington Trust, a leader in wealth management and corporate and institutional trust services, announced the elevation of two of its executives to key new roles in the U.S., as the firm bolsters its leadership team across critical businesses.

In this recent move, Frank Sutton has been named Chief Fiduciary Officer and Marguerite Weese has been named Chief Wealth Strategist.

These new roles come as Wilmington Trust -- a division of M&T Bank Corp. (MTB-NYSE) -- continues to expand and deepen its leadership team and grow its planning and Trust business under Head of Wilmington Trust, Jennifer Warren.

These two promotions went into effect immediately and both will report to Donald DiCarlo, who leads Wilmington Trust's planning and trust business lines.

Frank Sutton
Frank Sutton was named Chief Fiduciary Officer and Head of Trust Administration and is responsible for trust administration across, and oversight of, the firm's tax, unique assets and estate settlement teams. He is focused on integrating trust teams into local markets and aligning them with planning professionals to drive growth in the trust and estate business.

In his previous role at Wilmington Trust, Sutton oversaw a team of trust officers responsible for delivering personal trust and estate administration services. He also served as Head of New Trust Business Acceptance.

Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Sutton spent time at JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch Trust Co. and U.S. Trust Co. and was a trusts and estates attorney in New Jersey and New York.

He holds his J.D. from Cornell Law School, an LL.M. in taxation from New York University, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida.

Marguerite Weese
Marguerite Weese is the new Chief Wealth Strategist and is responsible for coordinating the firm's Wealth Strategists across the footprint to drive revenue and promote the Wilmington Trust brand through thought leadership.

She previously served as COO of Wilmington Trust Emerald Family Office & Advisory -- guiding clients in the creation and execution of complex financial, estate and succession plans.

She also served as national director of Family Legacy Strategies -- responsible for the development and delivery of strategies for personal wealth planning to high-net-worth individuals and their families.

Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Weese was an associate in PricewaterhouseCoopers' personal financial services group in their Philadelphia office. She holds a JD and LL.M. in taxation from Villanova University's Charles Widger School of Law and earned bachelor's degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Weese was recognized by the American Bankers Association as a member of the 40 Under 40 in Wealth Management, Class of 2021. She has been teaching estate planning at Philadelphia-area law schools and is currently an adjunct professor at Drexel University's Klein School of Law. She is the Philadelphia Bar Association's Probate and Trust Section's liaison to the Board of Governors and previously sat on the Probate Section's Executive Committee.
