Ramius Announces Partnership with Caerus Investors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ramius LLC (“Ramius”), the global investment management business of Cowen Group, Inc. (“Cowen”) (Nasdaq: COWN), today announced a partnership with Caerus Investors (“Caerus”). Caerus will join the Ramius alternative investment platform, enabling it to enhance its operations and accelerate the marketing of its fundamental, consumer-focused long/short equities strategy.

Headquartered in New York, Caerus is led by Founder and Chief Investment Officer Ward Davis and Managing Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager Brian Agnew. Mr. Davis was one of three founding partners at Trivium Capital Management, where he co-managed $940 million and oversaw all consumer-focused equities investments. He was also a Managing Director at Chilton Investment Company, where he headed the Consumer Team. Brian Agnew, Caerus Global Managing Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager, was previously a Portfolio Manager at JP Morgan’s Proprietary Equities Fund, and Executive Director at Stadia Capital.
