Minna Life Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Bring kGoal Boost to Men
A Smart Kegel Training System to Boost Your Health Below the Belt
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Minna Life (www.minnalife.com), a company that creates products to improve sexual health and wellbeing, today announced the launch of their Kickstarter campaign for kGoal Boost (http://kck.st/1iDjdVk). kGoal Boost is a non-invasive interactive training system (device + app) designed to assist men in pelvic floor exercises.
Minna Life's Kickstarter campaign for kGoal, their interactive pelvic floor training system for women, received $267,000 in pre-orders within its six-week campaign. It was this overwhelming success that inspired the company to address the rarely discussed importance of Kegels for men and to innovate an easy-to-use exercise product for the underrepresented market.
"Pelvic floor exercises, or Kegels, are often associated with improving women's sexual health," explained Liz Miracle, MSPT, WCS, and Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF. "What many don't know is the same pelvic floor muscle group also plays a huge role in men's sexual health. For men, regularly exercising pelvic floor muscles has the ability to improve a number of sexual health and performance areas, including orgasm quality and control, erection performance and sensation, supported bladder control and core strength."
kGoal Boost's innovation lies in its non-invasive yet engaging design. The product is shaped like a small bike seat that the user sits on. It then uses an air pillow sensor to detect and measure pelvic floor muscle contractions. Paired with its mobile app, the device provides proportional biofeedback (both tactile and visual) in real time and allows users to track exercise history, set goals and reminders, follow guided workouts and use a game option to make workouts more fun.
"We live in a society that has made sexual health a bit of an awkward subject, but we think that's crazy – it's a fundamental part of human happiness and when we ignore it, we're doing a disservice to ourselves, our bodies, our health and our partners," explained Jonathan Thomas, co-founder and COO of Minna Life. "That's why we're proud to have created a great product to help men improve a critical and overlooked part of their health."
Minna Life is expected to begin shipping units of kGoal Boost in Spring 2016. The app, compatible with iOS and Android, will be available for download from the Apple Store and Google Play. To learn more about Minna Life or to pre-order kGoal Boost, please visit (http://kck.st/1iDjdVk).
