Larry Ellison Presented First Ever Butkus Award(R) for Business

CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 10/03/16 -- Larry Ellison, cofounder of information systems giant Oracle Corp, has received the first ever Butkus Award® for Business.

Presented by the nonprofit Butkus Foundation, the Butkus Award for Business honors leaders who exemplify determination in business and life with the same tenacity that legendary linebacker Dick Butkus demonstrated on and off the football field.

For 40 years, Mr. Ellison has pursued the development and application of relational databases which have forever improved operations of business, government and society. He led Oracle through a dynamic journey that began as a startup and evolved to its position today a world-leading information management company. Today, he serves as Oracle's Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer while also pursuing passions including sailing, tennis and real estate development.
