Jim Chomas Named President of Blue Room Investing
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Private investment company Blue Room Investing (“Blue Room”) announced the appointment of Jim Chomas to President today. Based in Blue Room’s Denver headquarters, Chomas will bring his decades of insight, experience and leadership to both Blue Room’s impact investments as well as their investment fund.

Prior to joining Blue Room, Chomas served in CEO roles at multiple medical device and wellness companies, starting with Surefire Medical which he founded in 2009 and where he oversaw tremendous growth, from initial invention to sales in hundreds of cancer centers in both the US and Internationally. Before Surefire, Chomas led innovations at Cabochon (acquired by Ulthera, Inc.) and Siemens Healthcare. He is a prolific inventor, with over fifty US and international patents, and many of his medical device inventions remain in clinical use today. Chomas currently serves on the board of KromaTiD, and is a member of the Colorado Bioscience Association, Economic Club of Colorado, and has served on multiple board roles in venture-backed start-ups. Chomas earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University with a dual major in electrical and biomedical engineering, and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in biomedical engineering.
Blue Room was founded by Minyoung Sohn, Emily Philpott and Nina Sohn in 2020 on the principles of investment and impact, dedicating 10% of their revenues to social impact projects at no additional cost to investors. They continue to directly support regenerative agriculture, affordable housing, democratization of education and the arts. Blue Room’s debut Fund One launched in October 2021.
