Eimskip: Information on Gylfi Sigfússon‘s claim

Reference is made to a press release from 19 May regarding the claim of the former CEO, Gylfi Sigfússon, that the investigation of the District Prosecutor should be ceased.

Today the Court of Appeal ruled on the dismissal claim of the prosecutor in this case. The conclusion is that the appealed verdict of Reykjavik district court is cancelled and district court shall hear Gylfi’s case.  It is the Court of Appeal’s opinion that Reykjavík district court must hear Gylfi’s case as there has, among other things, been a delay in the procedure of this case.
