Award of Municipal Activity Licence

EMED Mining (AIM: EMED; TSX: EMD) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned operating subsidiary EMED Tartessus ("EMEDT"), the owner of Proyecto Riotinto ("Rio Tinto Copper Project"), has been awarded the Activity Licence from the Minas de Riotinto Municipality. This licence represents the final permitting component required to initiate mining activities at the Rio Tinto Copper Project where wet commissioning has already begun and first production is scheduled to commence in Q3 2015.

Alberto Lavandeira, CEO of the Company commented: "The receipt of the licence is a major milestone for the Company as it represents the final permit required to start building up production over the next few months, ahead of the originally anticipated target date of January 2016."

EMED Mining is a European-based exploration and development company currently focused on bringing the historic Rio Tinto Copper Project in southern Spain back into production.
