“Throughout his decades of dedicated service, Bill made substantial contributions to the betterment of Aqua. He was integral to the success of our water main rehabilitation program, and his knowledge of the maintenance and construction departments, as well as water operations in general, will be sorely missed,” said Aqua Pennsylvania Steve Tagert. “In announcing Marc Lucca as his successor, we are confident in the continued growth of Aqua Pennsylvania.”
Lucca joined Aqua in 2007 as vice president, production of Aqua Pennsylvania, where he managed the company’s treatment facilities. Under his leadership, the company’s 11 surface water treatment plants have been enrolled in the Partnership for Safe Water, a national volunteer initiative developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and American Water Works Association that provides communities with drinking water quality that surpasses required standards.
In addition to managing Aqua Pennsylvania’s production and treatment facilities, Lucca played a key role in the creation and management of Aqua’s One Company Initiative, which was established in February 2014 as a way to develop a more standardized approach to the operations of Aqua’s 18 large surface water treatment plants in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and Virginia. Lucca will continue to lead Aqua’s One Company Initiative through its planned completion in March 2016.
“Marc has proven to be instrumental in the growth and development of Aqua Pennsylvania,” said Tagert. “His expertise and leadership are vital to Aqua as we continually seek to provide quality drinking water and wastewater services to our customers and improve upon our distribution network for our communities.”
Lucca received his MBA with honors from Drexel University in June 2015. He has an MS in engineering from Pennsylvania State University, a BS in environmental engineering technology from Temple University and is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania and several other states. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of the American Red Cross.
