Preet Bharara, the sitting US Attorney for the Southern District of New York announced on Twitter that he has been fired by US President Donald Trump as of 2:39PM eastern time.
I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life.

Bharara's career has been one dotted with numerous achievements but those on Wall Street may remember him best as the one who put enough pressure on Steve Cohen of SAC Capital to cause the firm to go into private money management and change its name to Point72.
