Goldman Sachs resumed coverage on Vantiv (NYSE: VNTV) with a Buy rating and a price target of $40.00. Analyst James Schneider said share gains are likely to come as execution improves.
"Although we think merchant acquirers could see pricing pressure in the SME segment, we believe Vantiv can compete more aggressively for business in this segment given its structural cost advantage relative to smaller processors, and by leveraging its integrated payment offerings post its Mercury acquisition. We believe Vantiv is relatively protected from margin headwinds given its relatively high exposure to large national merchants where we expect little incremental pressure," said Schneider.
