Clear Street analyst Bill Maughan initiates coverage on Cellectis (NASDAQ: CLLS) with a Buy rating and a price target of $9.00.
The analyst commented: "We are initiating coverage of Cellectis (CLLS) with a BUY rating and a $9 price target based on our sum-of-the-parts DCF model. Cellectis is a clinical-stage biotechnology company with lead programs being allogeneic CAR-Ts for the treatment of hematological cancers from its UCART platform. Cellectis has produced strong efficacy data from its initial program, lasme-cel in ALL, and an encouraging initial efficacy signal from eti-cel in NHL. Efficacy of allogeneic CAR-T’s has historically lagged that of autologous therapies, and the achievement of compelling efficacy, we believe, positions Cellectis well to be among the first companies to bring an allogenic CAR-T product to market. Should these products succeed, the UCART platform would be well positioned to generate additional allo-CAR-Ts, including in an active collaboration with large Pharma partner AstraZeneca (AZN, not rated). At current trading levels, the company is being valued cautiously by the market, and we believe success in 2026 readouts for its two lead programs would drive significant value creation as conviction builds in the potential for long term growth."
