Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTI) is booming higher early Wednesday after the company launched a solar power charger for the Apple iPhone 4 and 4S.
Branded under Ascent's new EnerPlexTM line of consumer products, the charger incorporates the company’s solar cells into a sleek, protective iPhone 4/4S case, along with a thin battery.
The product will formally debut at the Intersolar Europe trade show next week.
Shares of ASTI last traded at $0.86, up 48 percent.
