eGenesis names new CFO and CCO as clinical programs advance

June 22, 2026 8:00 AM EDT

eGenesis, a Cambridge, Mass.-based clinical-stage biotechnology company developing engineered organs for transplantation, has appointed Glenn S. Vraniak as Chief Financial Officer and promoted Jennifer Bergheiser to Chief Commercial Officer, according to a company statement.

Vraniak brings more than two decades of executive experience in biotechnology, medical technology and specialty pharmaceuticals. He most recently served as CFO of Inversago Pharma, where he completed a $70 million Series C financing and helped negotiate the company's acquisition by Novo Nordisk in a transaction valued at approximately $1.1 billion. He has also held CFO roles at Evaxion Biotech, Valeo Detection Systems and electroCore, and served on the board of Apollomics Inc., where he chaired the Audit Committee.

Bergheiser, who joined eGenesis as Chief Business Officer in 2022, has more than 25 years of experience across biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology, private equity and strategy consulting. In her new role, she will oversee product management, market access, government affairs, patient advocacy and channel strategy, with a focus on the company's lead kidney program, EGEN-2784.

The appointments come as eGenesis advances clinical studies in multiple programs, including EGEN-2784 for kidney failure and a program for acute-on-chronic liver failure. The company has received FDA clearance to conduct clinical studies across both programs.

"eGenesis is entering a pivotal stage in our evolution as we prepare to advance our programs through clinical development and lay the foundation for future commercialization," said Mike Curtis, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of eGenesis.
