XTI Aerospace, Inc. (NASDAQ: XTIA) appointed Dr. Alex Williams as Executive Vice President of Technology, according to a company statement. Williams will oversee the company's collaboration with Valkyrie AI, focusing on integrating autonomous networking and artificial intelligence technologies into the TriFan aircraft family.

Williams holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and has served as a strategic advisor to XTI since June 2025. His background includes leading aerospace technology programs at Pratt & Whitney for NASA and the U.S. Air Force, followed by nearly a decade at Apple managing advanced research facilities and programs.

At Apple, Williams worked on materials and manufacturing processes for products including the iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac. His earlier aerospace experience involved jet engine design and performance development.

"XTI is methodically building the future of intelligent vertical flight," said Scott Pomeroy, CEO of XTI. "Dr. Williams will be a critical force in positioning the TriFan aircraft portfolio to become a market leader in autonomous and AI-enhanced capabilities."

Williams will lead technology development efforts, including a program to integrate Valkyrie's mesh intelligence framework into XTI's airspace management solutions. This system aims to enable real-time coordination across avionics, flight controls, and predictive safety systems.

The company outlined near-term priorities including enhanced flight autonomy, data-driven maintenance systems, and accelerating technology development for the TriFan 600 aircraft.

XTI describes itself as developing vertical flight solutions that combine aircraft design with artificial intelligence, advanced materials, and power systems for air mobility applications.
