Walmart names new leaders as John Furner becomes CEO

Walmart Inc. (NASDAQ: WMT) announced leadership changes effective February 1, 2026, as John Furner assumes the role of President and Chief Executive Officer.
The company named Seth Dallaire as Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer for Walmart Inc. Dallaire previously served as EVP and Chief Growth Officer for Walmart U.S. In his new role, he will oversee global enterprise platforms including Walmart Connect digital advertising, Walmart+, Walmart Data Ventures, Vizio, Sam's Club MAP, and a global Marketplace platform.
David Guggina will become President and CEO of Walmart U.S. Guggina currently serves as EVP and Chief eCommerce Officer for Walmart U.S. and previously held the position of EVP of Supply Chain Operations for Walmart U.S.
Chris Nicholas, current President and CEO of Sam's Club U.S., will succeed Kath McLay as President and CEO of Walmart International. Nicholas previously served as chief operating officer for Walmart U.S., CFO for Walmart U.S., and CFO for Walmart International.
Latriece Watkins will become President and CEO of Sam's Club U.S. Watkins currently serves as EVP and Chief Merchandising Officer for Walmart U.S. and began her career with Walmart as an intern in 1997.
"These internal promotions reflect our culture of opportunity and the depth of our leadership bench," Furner said in a statement. "As AI rapidly reshapes retail, we are centralizing our platforms to accelerate shared capabilities, freeing up our operating segments to be more focused on and closer to our customers and members."
