Septerna appoints Mark Wilson as chief legal officer

Septerna Inc. (NASDAQ: SEPN) announced the appointment of Mark A. Wilson as Chief Legal Officer. Wilson brings more than 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology legal matters, including intellectual property, corporate governance, and strategic collaborations.

Wilson joins the clinical-stage biotechnology company from Nektar Therapeutics, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. At Nektar, he managed legal, human resources, and information technology departments while serving on the executive committee. He led legal work for global development partnerships, corporate transactions, and alternative financings, and oversaw the company's patent strategy.

Wilson began his career at Nektar in 2002 as Patent Counsel and advanced through positions including Vice President of Intellectual Property and General Counsel. Prior to Nektar, he worked as an associate at Reed & Associates, a patent law firm in Menlo Park, California.

"His deep expertise across intellectual property strategy and corporate legal matters will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our governance framework," said Jeffrey Finer, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Septerna.

Wilson holds a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and a B.S. in Pharmacy from Rutgers University College of Pharmacy. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the State Bar of California.

Septerna develops G protein-coupled receptor therapies using its Native Complex Platform for drug discovery. The company advances programs in endocrinology, immunology, inflammation, and metabolic diseases.
