Piper Sandler hires Eric Ferdinand as managing director

Piper Sandler Companies (NYSE: PIPR) announced the hiring of Eric Ferdinand as a managing director in its financial services investment banking group.

Ferdinand brings nearly two decades of investment banking and strategic advisory experience across banks, specialty finance, and fintech companies. He most recently held a senior role at Bayview Asset Management, focusing on credit investment opportunities and portfolio strategies.

Previously, Ferdinand spent more than a decade as a managing director at UBS Investment Bank and Sandler O'Neill & Partners. At UBS, he led sector coverage and advised executives and boards on corporate finance and strategic matters. At Sandler O'Neill, he executed mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, restructurings, and shareholder activism defense assignments for financial institutions.

"Having previously worked with Eric at Sandler O'Neill, we know what a talented banker he is, and we are thrilled to have him back," said Bill Burgess and Scott Clark, co-heads of investment banking in the financial services group, according to the company's press release.

Ferdinand holds a bachelor's degree and Master of Accounting Science from Northern Illinois University and earned his Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.

The Minneapolis-based investment bank provides securities brokerage and investment banking services through various subsidiaries in the U.S., U.K., European Union, and Hong Kong.
