Lantheus Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: LNTH) completed its acquisition of Life Molecular Imaging Ltd., a subsidiary of Life Healthcare Group Holdings Ltd., the company announced. The transaction was previously disclosed by the Bedford, Massachusetts-based radiopharmaceutical company.
As part of the acquisition, Ludger Dinkelborg, former CEO and Managing Director of Life Molecular Imaging, will become Head of Research and Development at Lantheus effective August 1, 2025. Dinkelborg will oversee Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, Program Management, and AI/Biomarkers Solutions, reporting directly to CEO Brian Markison.
The acquisition provides Lantheus with Neuraceq (florbetaben F18 injection), an F-18 PET imaging agent approved globally for detecting beta-amyloid plaques in patients evaluated for Alzheimer's disease. The FDA approved Neuraceq on June 23, 2025, for positron emission tomography of the brain to estimate amyloid beta neuritic plaque density in adults with cognitive impairment.
The drug is indicated for evaluation of Alzheimer's disease and other causes of cognitive decline, as well as selection of patients for amyloid beta-directed therapy. Neuraceq is approved in the United States, European Union, Canada, South Korea, China, and Japan.
The transaction also gives Lantheus commercial infrastructure for Alzheimer's disease radiodiagnostics, research and development capabilities, and an international presence. Safety data from 1,090 administrations to 872 subjects showed no serious adverse reactions related to Neuraceq, with the most common side effects being injection site reactions including pain, erythema, and irritation.
Morgan Stanley served as financial advisor to Lantheus, while RMB, a division of FirstRand Bank Limited, advised Life Healthcare on the transaction.
