Dollar General names Donny Lau as new CFO effective October 2025

Dollar General Corporation (NYSE: DG) announced the appointment of Donny Lau as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective October 20, 2025. The appointment follows the departure of current CFO Kelly Dilts on August 28, 2025.
CEO Todd Vasos will serve as principal financial officer during the interim period between Dilts' departure and Lau's start date, according to the company's statement.
Lau previously worked at Dollar General from 2017 to 2023 in various finance roles. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer of Zaxby's Franchising LLC since July 2023. During his previous tenure at Dollar General, Lau held positions including senior vice president of finance and chief strategy officer, and vice president of investor relations and corporate strategy.
Before joining Dollar General initially, Lau worked at Yum! Brands Inc. from 2011 to 2017 in financial planning, investor relations, and corporate strategy roles. He also served as vice president of investment banking at Morgan Keegan & Company and Morgan Joseph.
"Donny's deep understanding of our business, culture and values and his impressive financial leadership and experience uniquely position him to drive excellence and create long-term shareholder value," Vasos said in the statement.
Dollar General operates 20,582 stores across the United States and Mexico as of May 2, 2025, including Dollar General, DG Market, DGX, pOpshelf, and Mi Súper Dollar General locations.
