Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) announced that Amit R. Ghai will become controller of the company effective March 1, 2026. Ghai will succeed Alana K. Knowles, who plans to retire in April 2026 after 38 years with Chevron.

In his new role, Ghai will oversee accounting policy, corporate and external financial reporting, internal controls, global business services and digital finance teams. He will report to Eimear Bonner, Chevron's chief financial officer.

Ghai currently serves as assistant controller, where he leads financial strategy and manages company-wide reporting through accounting and internal control practices. He also serves as secretary of the Board Audit Committee. Since joining Chevron in 2004 through the Finance MBA program, Ghai has held various operational and finance roles in the U.S. and internationally, including positions in Angola, California, Singapore and Houston.

Ghai holds an MBA in finance from the University of Michigan, a master's degree in chemical engineering from Lamar University, and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology in India. He began his industry career in 1996.

Knowles started her career at Chevron in 1988 in North America upstream accounting and finance. She has held leadership roles across finance, accounting, treasury and investor relations. Before her current position, she served as vice president of finance for downstream and chemicals and midstream, and previously worked as assistant treasurer.
