Ardelyx Inc. (NASDAQ: ARDX) announced executive leadership changes, appointing Edward Conner as chief medical officer and John Bishop to the new role of chief technical operations officer.

The company also announced that Justin Renz, chief financial and operations officer, will leave the company by the end of the year or when a successor is appointed and transitions into the role.
"Over the last year, we have carefully considered how to best position Ardelyx for its next phase of growth," said Mike Raab, president and chief executive officer. "Ardelyx is at an important stage of its evolution, and we have recruited leaders to help us achieve our ambitions."
Renz has served as CFOO for five years. The company stated he will remain through the transition period to help identify and onboard his replacement.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based biopharmaceutical company has two commercial products approved in the United States: IBSRELA and XPHOZAH, both containing tenapanor. The company also has international commercialization agreements for tenapanor in Japan, China and Canada.
The leadership changes reflect the company's preparation for what it describes as its next growth phase, according to the press release.
