Aeluma Inc. (NASDAQ: ALMU) appointed Christopher Stewart as chief financial officer, the semiconductor company announced. Stewart will lead the company's finance organization as it works to commercialize its technology portfolio.

His earlier positions included senior financial leadership roles at Maxwell Technologies, which Tesla acquired, Entropic Communications, acquired by Maxlinear, and Intel. Stewart holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.

"Chris brings the strategic financial leadership needed to scale Aeluma through its next stage of growth," said Jonathan Klamkin, founder and CEO of Aeluma, according to the company's statement. "His experience leading financial operations at high-growth technology firms and navigating capitals markets will be instrumental as we secure new customers and partners, expand commercial activities, and accelerate our path to profitability."

Aeluma develops photonics and optoelectronics for sensing, computing, and communication applications. The company manufactures semiconductor chips using compound semiconductor materials on large-diameter substrates commonly used for mass-market microelectronics.
