Kopin Corporation (NASDAQ: KOPN) announced a U.S. District Court in Colorado entered a post-trial order on September 5, 2025, requiring the company to pay approximately $19.7 million in damages to BlueRadios Inc. The court denied BlueRadios' request for a permanent injunction and prejudgment interest.
The microdisplay provider stated the damages award represents a reduction from jury recommendations. Kopin plans to appeal the monetary judgment, which CEO Michael Murray described as "unsupported and at odds with governing law."
The court's denial of an injunction means Kopin can continue operations without restrictions on current or future customer orders. The company provides optical systems and microdisplays for defense, training, enterprise, industrial, consumer and medical applications.
Kopin indicated it will proceed with strategic and global growth initiatives while pursuing the appeal process. The company did not disclose details about the underlying dispute with BlueRadios or the timeline for the appeal.
