InterDigital Inc. (NASDAQ: IDCC) received an injunction against Disney from the Munich Regional Court over patent infringement related to video streaming technology using high dynamic range (HDR), according to a company statement.

The court ruled that Disney infringed an InterDigital patent for HDR video content streaming. Disney may appeal the decision.

This marks the second injunction InterDigital has obtained from the Munich court against Disney. The first involved a patent for dynamically overlaying video streams. A Brazilian court also granted InterDigital a preliminary injunction after finding Disney infringed both patents in question.

"This decision is another example of how Disney continues to use our technology and infringe our intellectual property without a license, for free," said Josh Schmidt, Chief Legal Officer at InterDigital.

InterDigital, founded in 1972, develops wireless, video and artificial intelligence technologies. The company licenses its innovations to manufacturers of wireless devices, consumer electronics and providers of cloud-based services including video streaming platforms.
