Indivior pays $295 million to conclude DOJ matter

Indivior PLC (NASDAQ: INDV) paid $295 million to conclude a legacy U.S. Department of Justice matter, the company announced November 20. The payment satisfies the outstanding obligation associated with the matter and terminates the resolution agreement with the DOJ.
The pharmaceutical company funded the payment using cash on hand. The payment removes what the company described as a significant liability from its balance sheet.
"We are pleased to reach this important milestone that concludes the legacy DOJ matter," said Joe Ciaffoni, Chief Executive Officer. "It removes a significant liability and simplifies our capital structure."
Indivior develops medicines to treat opioid use disorder. The company operates with a focus on transforming opioid use disorder treatment and maintaining what it describes as a comprehensive compliance program.
The announcement was made through a press release statement from the Richmond, Virginia-based company.
