October 24, 2025 7:25 AM EDT

Alpha Modus Corp. (NASDAQ: AMOD) filed a patent infringement lawsuit against 7-Eleven Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on October 22, 2025. The complaint alleges that 7-Eleven's retail technology systems infringe eight patents from Alpha Modus's AI retail portfolio.

The lawsuit targets 7-Eleven's AI-powered checkout systems, camera analytics, digital signage, and mobile applications. Specifically, the complaint covers scan-and-go and cashierless checkout concepts, mobile app rewards flows, store camera computer vision analytics, digital signage and retail media systems, and point-of-sale inventory orchestration.

The eight asserted patents include Alpha Modus's '571, '890, '880, '120, '731, '550, '121, and '718 patents. According to the complaint, these patents cover technologies such as sensor-driven audience measurement, behavioral analytics, targeted content delivery, dynamic pricing, planogram compliance, and closed-loop measurement systems.

Alpha Modus seeks monetary damages, enhanced relief for alleged willful infringement, and injunctive relief. The company has filed similar patent infringement cases against other retailers and technology companies, including Kroger, Cooler Screens, RetailNext, Mood Media, Lowe's, and Johnson Controls.

Alpha Modus describes itself as a company that builds AI-powered retail intelligence technologies for physical stores. The subsidiary of Alpha Modus Holdings Inc. operates systems that combine sensing, decision-making, and customer engagement capabilities.

The Eastern District of Texas, where the case was filed, is known for handling complex patent disputes. The lawsuit represents part of Alpha Modus's broader enforcement campaign to protect what it calls its intellectual property leadership in AI-powered retail intelligence.
