Tesla faces intensified federal probe over FSD

Investing.com -- The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration upgraded its investigation into Tesla's driver assistance system to a more detailed engineering analysis on Thursday, according to the auto safety regulator.

The probe covers roughly 3.2 million vehicles across multiple Tesla models.

The escalation represents a more intensive phase of the investigation that could result in a recall or other enforcement action if regulators identify a safety defect.
