Russia's Lavrov says Moscow committed to Trump's Ukraine proposals
Investing.com -- Russia remains committed to U.S. President Donald Trump's proposals to end the war in Ukraine, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday. He added that Moscow is waiting to hear from Trump's envoys about how peace agreements based on U.S. proposals would be implemented.
U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who have led U.S.-brokered negotiations aimed at ending the war, will travel to Russia again soon, the Kremlin said on Sunday.
Lavrov said that European nations are attempting to offer their mediation services to Russia but are making incorrect assumptions that Russia is losing the war. He said Europeans are wrong to believe they can issue ultimatums to Moscow.
The Russian foreign minister said he hopes Trump envoys Kushner and Witkoff will explain during their upcoming visit how agreements based on their proposals can be implemented.
