Northrop Grumman secures $97.5 million contract for F-35 radar systems

Investing.com -- Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) Systems Corp. has been awarded a $97.5 million fixed-price incentive contract to procure F-35 APG-85 radar components, the U.S. Department of War announced Wednesday.

The contract specifically covers long lead time materials, parts, components, and efforts necessary to maintain the delivery schedule for the APG-85 radar Lot Six production for the Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy.

Work on the contract will be performed in Baltimore, Maryland, and is expected to be completed by March 2029.

The funding for this contract comes from fiscal 2025 aircraft procurement budgets, with $56,121,000 from the Air Force and $41,379,000 from the Navy. These funds will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The contract was awarded without competition, according to the Department of War. Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland, is serving as the contracting activity for the project, which has been assigned the contract number N0001925C0010.

Northrop Grumman's facility in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, received the contract award for this radar system work.
